I'm just another musician trying to make a mark out in the internet
world, but I have a story just like everyone else. If you have time to
read it, here is how it goes.
I started playing guitar at 11 and by the age of fourteen I was playing
the bass guitar because there weren't any bass players. That soon
changed as I joined my cousins to play Rock 'n Roll and olde country.
Lots of cousins, Bill Schibel, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Mia
Schibel Bill's daughter appears on Dave Bond's Real Country CD,
Luke Schibel, guitar, bass and drums. John Schibel, drums. the late
Gene Schibel, steel guitar, his son - Doug Schibel, bass guitar and
drums. There was a time you could see all of them playing in their
respective bands. Let us not forget Jon Janyszeski on steel guitar.
The next stop was The Delaware Debris a 50's type band that
included Jeff Kline, local guitarist, the late Jose Rivera, Ed Wall locally
renowned keyboardist and Larry DiSalvi of the later Dupree’s. The
band played in the New Hope and Lambertville area for several
years. Benj, Jeff, Eddie and Larry continue to perform locally. This is
Jeff and I at John and Peter’s in New Hope a long time ago.
For the next 15 years I was an integral member of Jimmy Fry's "Real
to Reel" country band. Along with Jimmy Fry, Bob Crossey drummer,
Jimmy Fry, Jr, and Don Petrescu.
I was fortunate to play with, the now retired, Dave Bond’s Real
Country, along with cousin Bill Schibel, playing at Artie’s in
Frenchtown and private parties.
I had a great time playing with good friends like Zeke Zafran, Craig
Marowitz, and Steve Klein in the Big Johnson band.
Always a hard rock'n time playing with Tom Frame and Don Martin
and the Geezer Band.
It was a pleasure to be one of the original members of the Mojo's
along with Robin Kurkendahl, lead singer and the late Albert Snyder,
super drummer.
Good times playing with the Laurie Vosburg band (previously 519
South) where we played local venue’s, like The Riegelsvile Inn, Artie’s
in Frenchtown and private parties.
I also enjoyed playing with the Barcode’s, a band the late Howard
Dreskin put together along with Jonathan Lamson and Jack
O’Donnel, good stuff.
Occasionally Vern Warta and his wife Nancy Macaulay ask me to join
them.
I found a music home in Upper Bucks County playing with local
friends, Todd White and Kim Jackson at local hot spots like the Bucks
County Brewery and the Wagon Wheel.
John Danaher and Steve Feurstein
… and Jimmy Fry's super Country Band, Real to Reel… and you know
it!
My love for hard driving low end notes lead me to play original hard
rock and roll which continues to be heard in my playing today.
